John Addy S. Garcia

Abstract:

The study reviewed the content of the 89 empirical and non-empirical articles published in the first 12 volumes of the Philippine Journal of Counseling Psychology. The content analysis noted the areas that received most research attention included personality, adjustment, and development; counseling process and outcome; professionalization of counselors; and counselor education and supervision. It also described the sample characteristics, research designs utilized, and profile of authors. The content analysis also revealed that the PJCP remained consistent with its stated mission statement while recognizing the emerging research areas in counseling psychology and counselor education.
