Abstract:

The study Multi-sided Rotary Electronic Billboard by Cromwell M. Castillo, Hermenegildo C. Hernandez and Marivic O. Tapiz is a commercial billboard that can be seen in all directions at specific time intervals. It is designed to create a method of promoting commercial products at an efficient means. Specifically, it meant to construct an electromechanical device that will display twelve billboard images through three images shown per side of a cubic assembly.

In addition, it specifically aimed at creating a stand-alone prototype that is controlled by an 8086 microprocessor with its associated integrated circuits so as to regulate the 10, 15, and 20-second time intervals per image and 90 and 180 degrees of rotation per side to where the images are supposed to be displayed. Through the use of gears, microprocessor circuits and assembly language the said stand alone device was constructed and was successfully fabricated. Computer handshaking made it possible for the said device to be graphically simulated as well.

It was found that it is possible to create an advertising mechanism as specified. It is recommended that full-scale electromechanical design shall be implemented from such completion with appropriate adjustments will be made.
