Abstract:

This study aimed to determine the attitudes of the clinical instructors of Colegio de San Juan de Letran Calamba who are handling RLE duties of nursing students in selected hospitals in Laguna. It also aimed to determine the significant relationship of their attitudes to their gender, age, and educational level by using ELD Standard Questionnaire. Findings revealed that majority of the clinical instructors of the colegio are female; most of them are Master’s Degree holder; and have neutral attitudes towards end-of-life decisions. Age groups and genders have no significance to their attitudes towards end-of-life decisions, although in terms of their educational background, there is one part in the questionnaire that showed a significant difference. The study recommended that there should be an enhancement on the topic of end-of-life decisions of the clinical instructors in the forms of trainings, workshops, and seminars. Other variables such as religion and marital status could also be used by the future researchers to identify its relationship to the attitudes of the respondents towards ELD.
