The study aimed to determine the demographic profile of Level IV nursing students of Letran Calamba in terms of gender; their level of readiness in conducting pain assessment through self-evaluation and their clinical instructors; the significant difference in the ratings on the level of readiness in conducting pain assessment made through self-evaluation and their clinical instructors; the application of appropriate assessment procedure and utilizing effective assessment tool; and the significant difference in the level of readiness of the students when grouped according to gender. Descriptive research was applied in the study and used frequency and percentage distribution, mean, and t-test in analyzing the data gathered. The study found out that the level of readiness of Level IV nursing students in conducting pain assessment belongs to the high level of readiness as well as in terms of applying appropriate assessment procedure and utilizing effective assessment tool. It was also showed that there is no significant difference in the ratings made through self-evaluation and their clinical instructors on the level of readiness in conducting pain assessment as well as in the level of readiness of the students when grouped according to gender.
