This paper deals with the Indigenous Knowledge Systems of two Indigenous Communities in the island of Mindanao, southern Philippines, which are in the state of being lost and forgotten due to acculturation to modernization. However, through the use of participatory research approaches-Adaptive Collaborative Management (ACM) and Cultural Inventory Survey-the indigenous knowledge in curing through the use of medicinal plants in the Talaandig tribe and the rediscovery of the knowledge of cotton weaving in theMatigsalug Manobo community have been revived and enhanced. The main purpose of this paper is to share the experiences of these two communities in the re-discovery of their indigenous knowledge.
