Successful disaster reduction strategies involve careful efforts that combine knowledge, technology, expertise, institutional capacities, management skills and practical experiences for optimum results.
This paper presents networking and collaboration toward sustainability and disaster management as call for communication and sharing of talents among those involved in disaster management, namely: the Academe, government agencies, non-government organizations, health workers, media practitioners, private sectors and local community members.
The support and effects of these groups strengthen partnerships and help reduce vulnerability of all concerned and may promote increased response to early-warning signals of disasters. Due attention to these challenges should be taken into consideration. Experiences and best efforts displayed by the different members of society make a difference in the reduction of disasters in any country.
