This paper focuses on providing a competency analysis of FM broadcast technical professionals in the Philippines in response to the emerging Digital FM technology in the country. The researchers did a survey to the engineers, technicians and audiomen working in the different FM broadcast stations within Metro Manila.
Through the analysis of the means as perceived by engineers, technicians, and audiomen this study present a competency standards for broadcast technical professionals.
This study establishes an approach to work through this matter in an interactive way and provide a competency standard, which maybe used as basis for further data collection and analysis. This may also be used as a background document for a survey of associations, vocational-technical schools, union-based apprenticeship training programs, higher-education institutions (HEIs), and other educational delivery systems in the Philippines likely to serve emerging training needs of the country in this area.
