Impact Of Extension Services Program On The Lifestyle Of Beneficiaries

Abstract:

The Technological Institute of the Philippines (TIP) has implemented community projects for the residents of the adopted community, Barangay Silangan. These projects were intended to m ake the beneficiaries self-reliant. Among the community projects that were conducted are livelihood trainings such as fashion accessories making, fish ball and squid ball making, cell phone repair, welding technology and slipper making. These were designed to improve the quality of life for community residents, particularly low-income individuals, or to solve particular problems related to their need.

This study endeavored to determine the impact of the extension services conducted by TIP on the lifestyle of beneficiaries. The study used descriptive method of research and survey questionnaires as its medium of gathering data. The results of the study will help develop and improve the programs and services extended by the TIP to its adopted community. There were 26 respondents. All are residents of Barangay Silangan in Quezon City.

Based on the findings, 31% of the respondents belong to age bracket of 18-27, 58% or 15 out of 25 respondents are female and 50% of the respondents are married, 14 or 54% of them are working in a private institution and earn below P15, 000. Results of the study shows that the Extension Services of TIP have effects on the lifestyle of beneficiaries.
