A Lay Teacher In A Religious School

A. J. Sison

Discipline: Education

Abstract:

AS indicated by its title, this paper is intended to analyze the prospects for a teacher in a school operated by a religious Catholic community who, unlike the principal members of such an educational institution, has not adopted the canonical vows as his rule of life. Furthermore, his opportunities and his effectiveness in the acquisition and transmission of knowledge will be investigated in the light of the religious tone of his environment. It will, thus, be necessary to consider also the incidental but close relation between religion and education, as well as the cyclical trend of events which is induced by the perfectibility and the corruptibility of finite beings.
