What happened 25 years ago is within the Hving memory of millions of Filipinos. Although the period of the Japanese Occupation has no doubt been the subject of reminiscences, seldom has it been the subject of judgment. To have survived those years, it seems, is enough. Let history, as it were, make the judgment on the heroes and heels of that period in our history. But has history made such a judgment? One book which has attempted to answer this question is Agoncillo's The Fateful Years, particularly volume II. After one has read the hook, however, the reader still must look for the answer. The hook does not give him one.
