The Relationship between Preferred Learning Styles and English Writing Proficiency of University ESL Freshmen

Abstract:

The act of writing is ingrained in every aspect of human life. It continues to shape human interaction but in varied ways for every generation. However, the ability to write clearly and correctly is a competence that up to now is given credence. The ability to write well is a requirement for every student of all higher education institutions. Thus, most higher education institutions in the Philippines require a total of six units of English writing and speaking. Despite this training, college instructors would still complain of students exhibiting poor performance in English.
