THE POTENTIAL OF REPUBLIC WAKE PARK NUVALI STA. ROSA AS A SPORTS TOURISM DESTINATION

Abstract:

Republic Wake Park has been making waves among wake boarding enthusiasts as it provides them perfect waters for wake boarding without having to travel far. The Department of Tourism accredits sports and recreational establishments against. The Rules and Regulations to Govern the Accreditation of Tourism-Related Establishments. This study determined the potential of Republic Wake Park to be an accredited sports tourism destination by using the minimum requirements set by DOT which include factors of location, parking, security, reception, sports and recreational equipment, public washrooms, fire-fighting facilities, maintenance, consideration of prohibited acts and practices and supporting documents required for accreditation. Using descriptive research method, the study surveyed ninety five guests and five employees of Republic Wake Park and employed frequency distribution and weighted mean to analyze the data gathered.
