Lighting provides an effective learning environment most especially during bad weather and night time. Also, good lighting plays an important role in safeguarding health at work by enabling employees to perform their work comfortably and efficiently. It also allows employees to read clearly labels and safety instructions to insure compliance with safety measures for prevention of hazards (Occupational Safety and Health Branch Labour Department, 2008). At school, according to Samani and Samani (2012), there is a significant relationship between lighting and student’s performance. This finding suggests that poor lighting may result in students’ low academic performance. Good lighting motivates students to learn, makes them more relaxed, and keeps them from getting sleepy. Hence, every school must provide students and teachers with good lighting to promote quality performance of both.
