Abstract:

This study showed the nutritional status of high school faculty members of the University of the Immaculate Conception. The data were gathered through a descriptive survey method done in August to September of 2011 involving forty (40) respondents. Universal sampling was used in determining the respondents. Anthropometric measurements were used since heights and weights are visible while blood pressure readings were used for clinical measurements. The measurements were taken and compared. Statistical analysis included the means for each nutritional status data of the participants to be classified as underweight, overweight, normal and obese. The percentages were also taken. Findings revealed that most of the high school faculty members are overweight and obese. Only few are engaged into physical activity and also few are concerned of their proper balanced diet. There is no significant difference in the nutritional status of the high school faculty members. Following factors such as age, gender, income, physical activity and dietary intake do not show significant differences as well.
