Knowledge, Attitudes and Practices among Food Handlers of Waterfront Insular Hotel Kitchen Staff on Food Sanitation

Abstract:

The primary purpose of this study was to determine the knowledge, attitudes and practices among food handlers of Waterfront Insular Hotel Kitchen Staff on food sanitation. The data collection was done through the use of survey questionnaires. The study involved 10 food handler respondents. They were given survey questionnaires that would measure the level of their knowledge, attitudes and practices towards personal hygiene, cooking food adequately and avoiding cross contamination. In general, the respondents’ knowledge, attitudes and practices towards personal hygiene, cooking food adequately and avoiding cross contamination was moderate with mean of 4.64, 4.79 and 4.54 respectively, which described as very high. Further, data revealed that there is no significant relationship among knowledge, attitudes and practices.
