Abstract:

This study was conducted to determine the best fit model for determining the predictors of child nutrition. Specifically it established the interrelationship among the biological behavioural, environmental and socio-economic predictors. This utilized a descriptive correlational design which aims to describe the nature of the situation as it exist at the time of this study and to explore the causes of a particular phenomenon and at the same time relating them to each other. The data were gathered from the fifty selected respondent’s residing in barangay Sasa Davao City. Moreover, survey questionnaire through personal interview were used as instrument to obtain information from the respondents. Furthermore, there were 100 children ages 3-12 who participated in this research. Stepwise multiple regression analysis was used to identify the variables that best predict child nutrition. Structural equation modelling was used to identify the model that best fits organizational commitment. The findings of the study reveal that the biological profile of the children specifically the weight best predicts child nutrition. Finally, the best fit model of determining child nutrition was the conceptual model 2, which passed all the goodness of fit indices criteria.
