The Level of Awareness on the Impacts of Teenage Pregnancy among the 1st Year to 4th Year Female BSHRM Students of the University of the Immaculate Conception

Abstract:

Teenage pregnancy is one of the main issues that every country is facing. The study attempted to determine the level of awareness on the impacts of teenage pregnancy in terms of physical, emotional, social and economic. Descriptive method was employed in this study with the use of frequencies and the mean to determine the responses of the respondents. Results have shown that the higher the year level, regardless of the age the higher the level of awareness on emotional aspect and social impact is positively related. Results of the study recognized that teenage pregnancy has different factors and impacts. The study has provided an avenue to assess the student’s level of awareness on the impact of teenage pregnancy. To ensure that the topic of teenage pregnancy will be understood by teenagers, the researchers recommended that their study used as guide to other students to be more aware on the impact of teenage pregnancy. In addition considering that the topic is a sensitive issue which is a very alarming situation, it is also recommended that sex education be given to teenage students yearly in order for them to have a deeper understanding on the consequences brought about by teenage pregnancy.
