Determinants of Reading Abilities of Grade IV Pupils of Macabalan Elementary School

Abstract:

The study was conducted to examine the Reading Ability of Grade 1V pupils of Macabalan Elementary School, specifically, it sought to answer the following problems; What is the profile of Grade IV pupils of Macabalan Elementary School?, What is the level of reading ability of pupils?, Which of the factors is most influential in determining the reading ability of Grade IV pupils of Macabalan Elementary School? Is there a significant association between the pupil's age and the reading ability?

 

The study made use of descriptive-survey design, which allowed the researchers to describe the existing conditions such as the pupil's profile, the level of reading ability among Grade IV pupils of Macabalan Elementary School and their reading ability. A survey questionnaire was formulated to gather the needed information.
