Structural Equation Modeling on Clients Satisfaction on Tourism Spots in Northern Mindanao

Annie Fritchie Aballe

Abstract:

This study aimed to develop a structural model of tourism product, safety and security, and tourism elements on clients’ satisfaction on tourist spots. The participants of the study were the 400 first time or returning clients on tourist spot in Northern Mindanao. These clients were chosen through random sampling. The data were gathered through the use of the survey questionnaires. Results of the study revealed that clients were satisfied. Furthermore, tourism product, safety and security and tourism element were significantly correlated with the clients’ satisfaction on tourist spots. There were seven variables that best predicted clients’ satisfaction: tourism attraction, accommodation, public safety, health safety, road safety, recreation and adventure. Among the five structural models explored in the study, Model 5 had indices that consistently indicated a very good fit to the data. This simply implies that if tourist spots are safe and secure and offer a wide variety of recreational entertainments, it would lead to better clients’ satisfaction. Moreover, tourism products, safety and security, tourism element and satisfaction were found to be very essential to the clients.
