Educational Change, Change Management Strategies and Transformational Leadership as Determinants of Organizational Culture of Tertiary Schools in Region XI

Abstract:

The global and national revolutions adversely affect organizational culture. The enigma of the current organizational culture is most likely agitated by internal and external factors brought about by educational change. The intricate make-up of change system requires the interplaying of prevailing approaches of change management strategies and transformational leadership, which are eventually used as significant predictors. The study employed quantitative approach, specifically the descriptive correlation research design. The study involved 68 school heads and administrators from both private and public tertiary schools in Davao Region. The validated survey questionnaire was the primary instrument used to gather data and to test the level and relationships of variables. As an end result, a regression model of indicators was utilized. Based on the statistical result, the tertiary schools’ organizational culture was very high; the extent of educational change efforts was at a very great extent; the level of employment of change management strategies was very high; and the level of transformational leadership was very high. Organizational culture showed significant relationship with the educational change, change management strategies and transformational leadership. On the other hand, organization showed positive predictor with educational change and transformational leadership but not with the change management strategies.
