Morpholexico Semantics: Lavender Linguistics in Focus

Abstract:

This phenomenological study was about morpholexico semantics of the Binisaya-Dabaw gay speakers which centered on morpholexico semantics, how morpholexico semantics in lavender language were structured and the experiences and challenges encountered by the participants as they used the gay language in their communities. The lavender language was on the Binisaya Dabaw professional gay speakers in the city of Davao. The Binisaya-Dabaw gay words were conglomerated, analyzed and interpreted according to the morpholexico semantics, structure of morpholexico semantics and the gay experiences. Further, it was also interesting that gay words were compiled in the glossary of terms with the corresponding lexical analysis. Professional gay speakers were the participants, thus allowing a rich and substantial data for the study. Several interesting knowledge about gay language surfaced like the morpholexico, the semantic relationships, the structures of lavender linguistics and the varied experiences and challenges of the professional gays. Results showed that lavender linguistics were categorized according to its lexical categories on noun, verb, adjectives, adverb and pronouns, had semantic relations on antonymy, eponymy and synonymy. In terms of structure, lavender language was commonly formed on affixation, reduplication, borrowing, coinage and eponymy.
