The present educational system has been aligned to the competencies and skills of the 21st century learning paradigm. This study aimed to determine the levels of emotional intelligence and 21st century skills among the English language learners in the tertiary schools in Davao City. Moreover, it attempted to evaluate whether there existed a significant relationship in the variables mentioned. The investigation made use of the descriptive-correlation and descriptive comparative research designs using a validated researcher-made questionnaire. Chosen through a purposive sampling technique, a total of 206 respondents were involved in the study. The results revealed that students had high level of emotional intelligence and high level of 21st century skills. Consequently, the respondents differed in their emotional intelligence when grouped according to age, sex, and school. In terms of the significant differences in the level of 21st century skills, only the school established significance while age and sex did not. More so, significant relationship between students’ emotional intelligence and 21st century skills was established. Findings also revealed that the level of emotional intelligence had a significant influence to the level of 21st century skills, implying that in every increase in the level of emotional intelligence of the English language learners, was a corresponding increase in their 21st century skills.
