Significant Features of Historical Churches in Cagayan, Philippines: A Policy Recommendation for Conservation of Historic Site

Abstract:

This study focuses on the “SIGNIFICANT FEATURES OF HISTORICAL CHURCHES IN CAGAYAN, PHILIPPINES: A POLICY RECOMMENDATION FOR CONSERVATION OF HISTORIC SITE”. A descriptive research design was utilized to identify the significant features of the different historical churches in Cagayan. On-site visits and inspection, documentation, documentary analysis, and interviews were employed to gather data. Based on the findings, there are 18 century-old churches in Cagayan, 10 are functional, 8 ruins. Significant features are found in the architectural design such as the details, components, style, location and church and liturgical items and engineering design.
