Measuring the reliability and validity of the Sinugbuanong Binisaya (Cebuano) translation of the attitude toward inclusive Education Scale (ATIES)

Abstract:

This scale validation study aims to establish the reliability and validity of the Sinugbuanong Binisaya translated version of the Attitude toward Inclusive Education Scale (ATIES). A total of 253 pre-service teachers were purposively selected from four (4) major teacher education institutions (TEIs) in Dumaguete City. Confirmatory factor analysis was performed to ascertain the consistency of the items in each dimension with the original version. The overall reliability coefficient of .916 indicated that all the items in the translated version are internally consistent with the construct underlying attitudes toward inclusive education.
