An Assessment of Housekeeping Procedures of City Garden Suites in Ermita, Manila

Abstract:

The study aimed to determine the actual housekeeping procedures of City Garden Suites in Ermita, Manila in one of the major functions of housekeeping department, cleaning and maintenance of guestrooms and public areas. It also aimed to ascertain if its actual housekeeping procedures complies with the general housekeeping standard of the lodging industry.

The study used the descriptive method of research and the housekeeping supervisor and room attendants were the respondents of the study. Observation checklist and interview guide questionnaire were used as research instruments. Findings revealed that the housekeeping department of City Garden Suites in Ermita, Manila specifically in its cleaning and maintenance of guestrooms and public areas was rated excellent. This denotes that the establishment strongly complied with the general housekeeping standard of the lodging industry.
