This study focused on the guestroom cleaning of Tagaytay International Convention Center in Tagaytay City, and how it helped to meet the customers’ satisfaction. This study also aimed to identify the compliance level of the hotel with the set DOT standards in terms of private area specifically in room section and its standard operating practices.
The study applied the evaluation and observation methods. Data were gathered through interview to identify the existing practices of the hotel, observation checklist to know if the hotel complies with DOT standards, and survey questionnaire to know the customers’ satisfaction. The weighted mean formula was used to interpret the guestroom cleaning standard of the hotel. Also, the study used the percentage formula to easily exhibit the frequency of each variable.
Results showed that the guestroom cleaning standards of Tagaytay International Convention Center is very good, its basic bed is excellent, dusting and wiping of bedroom and bathroom cleaning are both very good while the guestroom cleaning, bed making, and bathroom cleaning are all very satisfactory.
It was concluded that the actual operations of Tagaytay International Convention Center in terms of guestroom cleaning, bed making, dusting and wiping of bedroom, and bathroom cleaning is aligned with the Department of Tourism standards. Futhermore, guests who evaluated its operations in terms of guest cleaning, basic bed making, dusting and wiping of bedroom, and bathroom cleaning provided them a rating of very satisfactory. However, in spite of this high rating, there are still improvements needed to assure the competitiveness of the hotel and to satisfy more guests.
The study recommended that the Tagaytay International Convention Center should continually improve its guestroom cleaning in accordance to the general housekeeping set by that DOT.
