Abstract:

The research aimed primarily in developing and validating of a Diagnostic Test in Earth Science Junior High School in James L. Chiongbian National Trade School during the school year 2019-2020. Descriptive analysis and evaluative research is used as this will identify the current needs of the students’ performance using a diagnostic test. There are 80 participants who were purposively selected to be part of the study. The study used the Research and Development (R&D) design. It is a systematic Activity combining both basic and applied research, aimed to discover solutions to problems or creating new goods and knowledge. This study has developed and validated a diagnostic test on Earth Science Junior High School Program. The KR 20 value gives an overall indication of the test reliability. The values obtained in establishing the reliability of the constructed test. The Diagnostic test in Earth Science Junior High School Program is reliable because it results to Moderate correlation of 0.5813 reliability coefficient. This means that the test yields scores which are consistent or relatively stable from the first administration (first trial run) up to next which is the second trial run.
