This research aimed to determine the possible tour package for eco-heritage trips in Pakil, Laguna. It also aimed to formulate recommendations for the municipality as well as to inform tourists of other attractions available in the place besides from its famous Turumba Festival.
The study used qualitative method. Data gathering included ocular visit to the different spots in the place. Some information was also obtained from the municipality of Pakil in addition to the observation that were made in gathering information about the place.
An interview questionnaire for key informants consist of local residents, officials of the Department of Tourism, officials of the municipality, bystanders, and vendors was also utilized in gathering relevant information needed in the study.
It was found out that there were needs for the municipality to develop its tourism industry. Tourism development should be set as one of its long-term programs for the end view of generating additional revenue for the town. The present site has an area of only 650 square meters. The ideal land area requirement for its expansion is at least 3,000 square meters to build additional facilities such as cottage, rest house, restaurants, pool expansion, and other support facilities.
A site development plan has already been drawn up by the municipal government to develop its facilities though the Phillippine Tourism Authority (PTA). Included also is the beautification and improvement of Plaza Rizal and Plaza Adoza while from V. Rarela Sr. (Esteca) to Ybardolaza St. will be developed as a promenade area park. If pursued, this complex will become the focal point of tourism.
Based on the findings, it was concluded that if these identified sites in Pakil were developed, it will make the place well-known not only for its Turumba Festival but for these beautiful sites also, thus, attracting more tourists to visit the place.
