Abstract:

The study was conducted in a tertiary private hospital in the City of Manila to assess the telemedicine healthcare delivery during COVID 19 pandemic. Generally, most tertiary private hospitals have established their own telemedicine platforms to capture the bulk of patients who are not willing to go to the hospital for consultation. To overcome the challenges that most hospitals face, they need to adapt and innovate while maintaining the ability to provide adequate and quality services to clients, which is through the implementation of telemedicine. However, like any other industry, “E-Clinic” or “TeleConsultation” of this hospital also faces challenges since a lot of affiliated doctors are not using the teleconsultation platform provided. Hence, the study aimed to improve the utilization of telemedicine platform which would enhance the medical services provided. The study used a descriptive quantitative and qualitative approach. The information was collected through self-made survey questionnaires for patients and medical doctors. The two survey questionnaires used when subjected to Cronbach's Alpha obtained good internal consistency assessment. A 4-point Likert Scale and Verbal Interpretation of respondents were used for the visual translation of the numbers. A frequency percentage and mean weighted value were used in the analysis of the gathered data. Currently, the end of the COVID pandemic remains uncertain. The hospital needs to make new plans to address the decreasing number of patients and doctors availing the telemedicine services to prevent further loss in revenues.
