STATISTICAL STUMBLING BLOCKS: EXPLORING STUDENT ATTITUDES TOWARDS STATISTICS

Abstract:

The usage of various social media platforms promotes the transmission of information to the surrounding community, and social media is increasingly viewed as a medium that is extremely near to the community. The role of social media is a fiercely contested issue. Individuals are active audience members that use Internet-based social media technologies to create and negotiate social action in online spaces. Social media's practical benefits and drawbacks are frequently discussed topics. This study, therefore, was conducted to explore the benefits and downsides of using social media as a mode of online communication in an organization as experienced by the employees. Easy and convenient to use, can easily express feelings, building friendship, and affordability were the benefits mentioned while credibility of information, overlooked messages and mixed with personal space were most mentioned as the downsides. Result leads to crafting of communication plan which may help in improving communication inside the institution.
