Abstract:

Financial literacy is a pressing global issue, with billions unprepared for financial changes. Despite advancements, only a third of the world's population grasps basic financial concepts. A lack of financial acumen affects both economies and individuals. In the Philippines, low financial literacy persists, impacting day-to-day decisions. Job order employees face financial challenges due to their temporary status and variable income, yet there is little focus on addressing these issues. The study examines the relationship between financial literacy and the financial well-being of job order employees in selected government agencies. Utilizing a quantitative descriptivecorrelational approach, the study surveyed 125 job order employees from selected government agencies in Nueva Vizcaya, particularly the 1st and 2nd District Engineering Offices of the Department of Public Works and Highways. Data were collected through a questionnaire assessing the participants' level of financial literacy and financial well-being. The results of the study revealed that the majority of participants belong to the 20 -29-year-old age group, are college graduates, and have been working as job order employees for 1 to 5 years. Additionally, the participants demonstrated high levels of financial literacy, encompassing financial knowledge, attitudes, skills, and values. In terms of the level of participants' financial well-being, most participants exhibited a medium to high level of financial well-being. Furthermore, the study revealed no significant differences in financial literacy levels when participants were grouped according to their demographic profiles. Additionally, the study found no significant differences in the level of financial well-being among job order employees and their demographic profiles. Lastly, the study concluded that there is no relationship between financial literacy and the financial well-being of job order employees. This paper highlights the importance of tailored financial education for job order employees, aiming to enhance their financial wellbeing and decision-making, ultimately benefiting both their personal lives and public service.
