Abstract:
A tracer study is one form of empirical study that can appropriately provide valuable information for evaluating the education and training of a specific institution of higher education. Education is the most dominant mechanism for the empowerment of people for their political, socio-economic, and technological development. Therefore, the learning environment of higher education institutions must take cognizance of this in structuring their course programs. Thus, this study focused on tracing the demographic profile, current employment status identified the competencies learned that are useful in finding a job; assessed the contribution of the program to the personal and professional growth of the graduates; described the characteristics of the degree program taken; determine the contribution of the work-related values to the demand of the job and identified the hospitality hard skills that meet the demand of the job. This study employed the descriptive research design with a survey questionnaire in gathering the necessary data needed in the study. The respondents of this research were 244 graduates of the Bachelor of Science in International Hospitality Management S.Y 2017-2019. Using the modified research questionnaire based on the Graduate Tracer Survey of the Commission on Higher Education, the study revealed that a significant majority of graduates, approximately 96.9%, have successfully secured employment. These graduates are primarily male, single, and reside in Batangas cities. As a result, the researcher proposed an action plan for a greater employability rate of graduates.
