Information System, Knowledge Sharing, and Competitive Strategy of Management Consulting Firms: Basis For Enhanced Innovation Performance Framework

Abstract:

Chinese management consulting firms have emerged as formidable players in the global market, offering a unique blend of cultural insights and strategic expertise. These firms leverage their deep understanding of the Chinese business landscape to provide tailored solutions for multinational companies seeking to navigate the complexities of the Chinese market. This study aimed to examine the information system, knowledge sharing, competitive strategy of Management Consulting Firms and establish an enhanced framework for innovation performance. Specifically, it will assess the level of the application of information system in terms of support strategic decision-making, resource planning and project management; describe the knowledge sharing practices in terms of knowledge transformation process, technical support and training, and level of employee participation and enthusiasm; determine the competitive strategy in terms of differentiation, cost leadership, and focus; test the significant relationship among information systems, knowledge sharing and competitive strategies; and to develop a framework to enhanced the innovation performance of Chinese management consulting firms. The study revealed that the employees generally agrees that a moderate level of information system application in terms of support strategic decisionsmaking, resource planning, and project management. Also, the employees generally agrees that the organization's knowledge sharing practices are moderately present across knowledge transformation, technical support, and employee engagement. The employees generally agrees that the organization's competitive strategy demonstrates a moderate application of differentiation, cost leadership, and focus. There is a highly significant relationship between information systems, knowledge sharing and competitive strategies. A proposed enhanced innovation performance framework was developed for Chinese management consulting firms.
