The Relationship of Emotion Regulation to Gender, Parenting Style and Academic Performance

Abstract:

This paper investigates the relationship of emotion regulation with gender, parenting style and academic performance among three and four- year- old preschoolers. It also looked at the coping strategies that children use in frustrating situations. Results show that emotion regulation affects a child’s cognitive and socio-emotional development.
