Abstract:

This study was conducted to find out the impact of Miriam College High School (MCHS) education on emotional skills. A total of 243 first year students coming from the Grade School unit of MC in school year 2004-2005 participated in the study. After four years, in 2007-2008 these students were given the same questionnaire, the Bar-On EQ.

Mean scores were computed. Graphs were also used to illustrate the results between the pre-test and post-test. Paired-sample t-test and multivariate ANOVA with repeated measure were done to find out if the mean difference between the pre-test and post-test is significant.

Results showed a significant increase in the mean scores from the pre-test to the post-test of all the EQ scales indicating that EQ behaviors of students improved after four years of MCHS education.
