Implementing an Improved Adaptive Boosting Algorithm for Human Presence Detection on a Dark Environment

Developing systems that employ computer vision is a growing trend among application developers because of the benefits it gives to its end-users. The extent of this system is determined by the algorithm that was used. This paper talks about creating an improved Adaptive Boosting (Adaboost) algorithm that is capable of detecting human presence. Not only just during daytime but more importantly during night time.

Improvement of this algorithm would mean maximizing situations in which the algorithm can be used. It was done by modifying the hardware component which is the web camera. Infrared technology was added into it.
