Abstract:

Tumuturol ang modernisasyon sa katotohanang nabibilang tayo sa kasalukuyang International Information and Communication Order at bahagi rin, kahit maliit lamang, ng Rebolusyon sa Siyensiya at Teknolohiya (Scientific and Technological Revolution). Kailangang maging sensitibo tayo sa mga makabagong kalagayan para tumanggap ang Filipino ng mga makabagong elemento (tulad ng mga salita, parirala, ideya, konsepto, at teorya) na galing sa dalawang pandaigdigang bukal ng kaalaman at pagbabagong iyan. Ang mataas nang antas ng kaalaman at ang napakabilis na pagsulong nito ay malinaw pa ring nagbabadya na ang Filipino ay dapat nang umahon mula sa kalsada, palengke, radyo, pelikula, telebisyon, komiks, at magsalin upang tumungo at mapanday sa loob ng silid-aralan, laboratoryo, journal, at iba pang mga publikasyong iskolarli at propesyonal at gayundin sa batasan, hukuman, diplomasya, at burukrasya.

Modernization depicts the reality that we belong to the present International Information and Communication Order and also a part of, even just a small fraction, of the Scientific and Technological Revolution. We need to become sensitive of the new statures so that the Filipino language could accept new elements (such as words, phrases, ideas, concepts, and theories) that are from the two global sources of those knowledge and changes. The high level of knowledge and its fast development stil is a clear manifestation that the Filipino language should evolve from the streets, market, radio, film, television, comics, and translate in order to advance and be wielded in the classroom, laboratory, journal, and other scholarly and professional publication and also including the senate, court, diplomacy and bureaucracy.
