Abstract:

This study was designed to evaluate the Solid Waste Management of the University of the Immaculate Conception– Main campus. This investigation described accurately and systematically the level of awareness and extent practices of HRM students regarding waste segregation. This study covered the students of the ND/HRM/TM program in the University of the Immaculate Conception. There were 150 students that were asked and given the survey questionnaires. After the survey, the results were analyzed through frequency distribution, mean, and analysis of variance through ANOVA t-test and conclusion were derived. The participants included in the survey were the BSHRM students. Results showed that most of the respondents have appropriate awareness and practices in waste segregation. On the other hand, majority of the respondents practiced waste segregation properly which was further confirmed by the presence of contamination in most of the trash receptacles. This study concluded that the respondents were generally non-compliant to the strategies of the system. There are three strategies used in the system and all were not strictly implemented.
