Abstract:
This research aimed to determine mothers' disaster risk reduction management behaviors in the
adopted communities of City College of Calamba, a local college in Laguna Province, Philippines,
in responding to a natural disaster. Utilizing a descriptive cross-sectional research design, the
study surveyed 202 respondents from selected communities to determine their knowledge,
attitudes, and practices regarding DRRM. Results revealed that the respondents needed more
understanding of disasters, emphasizing improved education and preparedness initiatives.
However, they demonstrate a favorable attitude towards risk and reduction management. The
study highlighted the significant impact of disasters on households and emphasized the urgency
for robust risk mitigation strategies. The findings underlined the importance of disseminating
knowledge about disaster preparedness, especially concerning floods.
